| The main musical event of the year, which rallied together the whole Europe on this night - EMA ceremony in 2011 (European Music Awards), annually organized by the television channel MTV was passed in the capital of Northern Ireland last Sunday. Creative Director of House IRFE Olga Sorokina had visited Belfast by the invitation of friends, set designers and decorators, who did developing and staging sets for performances of various artists on the EMA on this year. Olga came to the ceremony in the company her good friend Anthony Kaye aka BB. Audiences of all countries could know him by his work collaboration with the greatest names of the music industry as Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, Kylie and many many others. Interesting addition to all musical performances of EMA became also a spontaneous party, dedicated to the birthday of French DJ and musician, David Guetta, which was organized themselves just by the accident. After the closing ceremony of the New York Film Festival, actor and director John Turturro assembled his colleagues and friends at a private screening of his new documentary film Passione. Among the invited friends were actress Frances McDormand, Joel Coen's wife, who co-sponsored the screenplay, actor Jason Kravitz, director John Sayles, as well as the creative director and owner of Fashion House IRFE Olga Sorokina. Passion for documentaries is common to many creative people. Olga Sorokina had also dreamt of shooting a film about the legendary history of the House IRFE and after watching one documentary picture about Felix Yusupov and a few films at Venice Film Festival this year, Olga decided to support her Italian friend at the premiere of his documentary film in New York. The event was held on October 17 at New York Crosby Hotel.
John Turturro not only played in this film, but also was its director and producer. Passione is a story of Naples, which opens to its spectator through its extraordinary music. The film characters are the inhabitants of the city, whose everyday life is directly connected with the songs. Turturro has confessed that it was not the easiest project in his life. The film was shot in just 21 days and even with Italian roots, he had to learn and listen to a lot of Italian music, to make a decision which songs eventually will go into the final version of the picture.
The 68. Venice Film Festival is over. It always attracts media attention as one of the most important annual events in Italy. This year at the request of the magazine OK Olga Sorokina visited the film festival ! She shared her experiences with OK readers.
« Every spring i come in Venice to feel refreshment of mind and body. And suddenly i had a chance to visit Venice in september. How could I refuse such a nice opportunity, especially when you are invited to a celebration of the great actor Al Pacino.
However everything was so not so simple: the Venice Film Festival! So sounded the sentence to my holidays. So what, I thought there are beautiful beaches in Venice! As it turned out, nobody uses the beaches of the Lido.
But it’s still nothing in comparison to the fact that I saw Venice under a completely different angle. Neither better nor worse, just differently. Being a happy tourist, you can never notice what can see a professional. After having visited Venice, anyone interested in fashion sees how Louis Vuitton is linked to Italy.
Thanks to the festival I learned that in Venice you can move not only by gondola, but also on a bicycle. Using this vehicle you can kill two birds with one stone: firstly, you can always look fashion, especially if you choose the color of the bike following the trends of the new season, and secondly, you escape from photographers. A crowd of journalists coming in Lido for the festival sensations look every passer-by in the face hoping to find in him a star. To be honest it’s not a very pleasant experience. Especially when you consider that the stars do not want to be photographed outside first performances, parties and red carpet. Similar confusion occurred with Madonna who had to ignore the fans who were waiting for her appearance in the morning in the lobby, where she was supposed to give interviews, just to avoid to have these unfortunate pictures. That’s why she had to listen to a bunch of unflattering shouts from the crowd during his next appearance in public. But when you're on a bike, no one even looks in your direction (my tips for new stars). Moving by bicycle you never know about attacks of photographers and never see their bad pictures in magazines.
As someone from fashion world i especially remembered the presentation of two documentaries about fashion arranged by Franca Sozzani (editor in chief of Italian VOGUE). The first film was dedicated to the great designer Emily Schubert who dressed in 60th Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren and became a teacher of Valentino Garavani. The second film was about Diana Vreeland who by their influence on fashion can be compared only to Coco Chanel. He seriously made me think about how to make a documentary about the history of IRFE. In addition to the hostess Franka Sozzani the party was attended by Valentino in company of Bianka Brandolini and producer Daniel Venturelli who in 2008 made a film about Valentino - "The Last Emperor."
Al Pacino had at least two things to celebrate at the 68th Venice Film Festival. On Sunday, September 4, his film "Wilde Salome" was debuted to positive reviews and he was honored with Jaeger Le Coultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award. About fifty people were invited to the dinner party in his honor at the Palazzo del Cinema.
I spent all the dinner with the starring actress Jessica Chastain and the film producer Barry Navidi. Jessica made a very good impression, she joked all night and it was evident that her excitement before the first performance already disappeared. She wore a very beautiful dress Eli Saab.

On July 25 fashion house IRFE celebrated an important event. The event was doubly significant, since brand IRFE presented in more than 23 countries around the world, opened in Capri its first own boutiques. Sunny Capri was not chosen by chance, because it became a popular resort for Russian and European artists, writers and other celebrities.
Two shops IRFE are located in the most interesting parts of the island - the main street Via Roma with almost all major brands and shops and on the legendary beach La Canzone del Mare in the bay La Marina Piccola famous for its glamorous parties and events.

Countess Xenia Cheremetieff-Sfyri, the granddaughter of the founders of fashion house Irina and Felix Yousupov, Italian actress and model Guy Berman Amaral and model Ariadna Romero, who were dressed in outfits from the capsule collection IRFE Red Carpet, as well as special guests Fiona Swarovski, American actor Daniel Mc Vicar and an Italian diplomat Cristiano Gallo came to congratulate creative director and owner of the fashion house Olga Sorokina.

On 5 March 2011 during the Fashion Week in Paris fashion house IRFE presented it’s Fall-Winter collection 2011/2012, within a framework of press-day at the showroom IRFE in the Faubourg Saint-Honoré street.
Olga Sorokina, creative director and owner of the fashion house, personally demonstrated new IRFE collection to invited guests - representatives of international and Russian media as well as fashion critics.
Olga paid particular attention to the launch of the first capsule collection of evening dresses IRFE «Red Carpet», individual copies of which can be seen that day in the showroom IRFE.
For the Fall-Winter 2011/2012 IRFE collection, the key words that best define its trend are volumes, materials and colours. Two main stories stand out of this collection: one is fluid, soft and protective, while the other is architectural, corseted and provocative. Only noble fabrics and luxurious materials were used for this collection produced by the finest French and Italian artisans. The collection resembles a wardrobe and allows the modern woman to express her own style without restraints. IRFE creations can be worn by any type of woman seeking to affirm her own sense of style.
For IRFE accessories designer uses skate skin, lamb and python. In this case, contrasting fur collars can be also used as belts. Olga personally demonstrated it on the models.

Founded in Paris in 1924 by Prince Felix Youssoupoff and his wife Irina, the niece of the last Russian Tsar Nicolas II, IRFE rapidly conquered chic European and American customers who were dazzled by its aristocratic founders. The name of the fashion house was composed of the first syllables of their names, Irina and Felix. Prince Youssoupoff had always loved to sketch fashion designs and possessed a true sense of elegance. The house of IRFE, like the couple that founded it, was elite and refined.
The small business expanded and prospered. The House of IRFE took over a studio worthy of its growing reputation at 19, Rue Duphot in Paris and then opened three new branches in Le Touquet, London and Berlin. On 22 February Olga Sorokina took part at the project of cultural and charitable foundation "Planet of peace» ''LITTLE HEARTS DAY'' – the day of help for children with heart diseases.
The main objective of the project is raising money for children who need heart surgery.
Similar events are held at London's Selfridges, American Neiman Marcus, where participated Lady Gaga, Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller, Elle Macpherson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mary-Kate, Ashley Olsen and many others.
According to statistics, ten children in thousand are born with heart diseases (data from the American Benevolent Association «March of Dimes»). Cardiac problems are the most common childhood congenital health problems. Nevertheless, in most cases, a timely diagnosis and a proper treatment are able to cope with the disease.
In Germany, the collections IRFE are represented in 13 multi-brand shops. The brand IRFE became very popular in this country.
The German press pays great attention to the revival of IRFE. In this regard, the Press-day was organized in Munich on the 14 of December 2010. The Press-day was attended by the new owner and designer of fashion house IRFE Olga Sorokina, who came in Munich especially for this purpose from Paris.

The presentation of the collection IRFE "Spring / Summer" took place on 4 October as a part of Paris Fashion Week.
The collection was presented at the residence of the Ambassador of Russia in France, in an elegant palace of the eighteenth century to the Rue de Grenelle, who served a superb setting for models created by art-director Olga Sorokina .
The words that best describe the Spring-Summer 2011 Collection by IRFE are "materials" and "colors." Taking inspiration from two key themes to create the new collection, Olga Sorokina developed a style that is at once modern and elegant. The first theme contributes a fluid, supple and natural look while the second strikes a sophisticated, urban tone. Here and there, luxurious fabrics and materials are used to add structure to garments and evoke the historic heritage of Maison IRFE, without interfering with the ultra-current image conveyed by the collection.The first theme revives the 'Seventies with a hippy look complete with fringe, safari jackets and lacing. It draws on materials like python and suede, as well as a palette of beige and camel shades. The image of the fluid muslin dresses of the 'Seventies is transposed onto the long dresses in the collection. The second theme, rock 'n' chic, inspired a trendy couture silhouette, with lots of black and wide shoulders. Mesh tops lend the collection a rock punk aura. The leather skirts and leggings come in black, occasionally relieved by a flash of color, such as the pink tulle skirt. The ubiquitous accessories - purses, belts and jewelry - are adorned with the historic codes emblematic of the House of Irfé, among them the two-headed Imperial eagle and the crown worn by the Prince Youssoupoff and his predecessors. In this new collection, Olga Sorokina presents an elegant, contemporary wardrobe. Her designs are distinctive and easy to wear, and they make sense. The individual woman will enjoy discovering and admiring these outfits, not to mention wearing them to make a fashion statement reflecting her own personality.
Paris Vogue celebrated its 90th anniversary at the Hotel Pozzo di Borgo. It was a star studded party inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s film, Eyes Wide Shut. Many glamorous celebs were in attendance that included Natalia Vodianova, Gisele Bundchen, Dita Von Teese, Chanel Iman, Crystal Renn, Tyra Banks, Anna Dello Russo, Karolina Kurkova.

The exhibition "Art and traditions of the Russian Empire. From Peter the Great to Nicholas II » was opened in Paris. Along with the fashion house IRFE, the exhibition also includes an exclusive product of the famous suppliers of the Russian Imperial Court of that time, such as Cartier and Christofle. Submitted exhibits - photographs, documents, and most importantly - the objects of the time, are unique by the fact that they are the subject of exclusive private collections, most of which have never been exhibited.
Official opening of the exhibition organized in the frame of Russia- France Year 2010, visited the French Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterrand, Russia's ambassador to France, Alexander Orlov, the Grand Duchess Maria Romanova, her son, Grand Duke Georgy Romanov, a famous artist Mikhail Shemyakin, and many other figures art, politics and business.
At the invitation of the Russian ambassador and the Minister of Culture of France the opening ceremony attended Olga Sorokina, the designer of fashion house IRFE, who revived in 2008 in Paris, this legendary brand.

On 17 june 2010 a solemn opening ceremony of the 32th Moscow International Film Festival was held in Moscow at cinema «Pushkin». The event brought together not only all the Russian stars but also international filmmakers, for example, the chairman of the jury Luc Besson. The host of the ceremony Anna Snatkina was wearing clothes of IRFE.
A great event devoted to rebirth of House IRFE took place in Palais Tokyo in Paris. The first collection “Renaissance” created by the head and designer Olga Sorokina was presented to the guests. Evening wear, suits reconstruct the spirit, mood and philosophy of the former House of IRFE adding them a more modern perception.
In 70 years after its closure Fashion House IRFE, which was established at the beginning of the last century by Irina and Felix Yousoupoff, is being reborn. Its new head and designer becomes Olga Sorokina. Direct descendants of Yousoupoff dynasty take part in the House rebirth, countess Xenia Sphiris, who was born Sheremeteva.
This fashion revival has, as its creative director, Olga Sorokina, whose slender silhouettes and rich embellishment produced a collection with a spirit of the past in pleated dresses but the glamour of Moscow now in fur trimmings and rich color.

Fashion House IRFE was founded in 1924 by Prince Felix Yousoupoff and Princess Irina Romanova, a niece of Russian tsar Nikolay II. The House name is formed by junction of the two first syllables from names of Youssoupoff couple: Irina-Felix.
Lovers of fine arts and fine things, the white Russian pair in 1924 founded the house of Irfe in Paris, after the first two letters in each of their names, launching their first collection at the Ritz and then showing inside their own theatre, built in their Parisian home. Noted by Vogue and popular with American millionaires, Irfe offered hand-embroidered, hand-painted elegance, but crashed in 1931 due to the dire straits of its clientele after the Great Depression.
